First, I noticed I had more time to cook. Well that and I got a slow cooker for Xmas. I started off making recipes I was familiar with. Like Chicken Adobo, Polish Dogs, Carnitas, and other things that won't disintegrate after long hours of cooking. I still have to try desserts. But those only take a couple of hours. I've also tried going back to old favorites like Chicken Parmesan, Fajitas, and things I didn't get to do while I had a full schedule. I do have to add that I love having the slow cooker. It makes cooking sauces and large pieces of meat a breeze. Currently we own a Cuisinart 4 Quart Programmable Slow Cooker. It has a timer, High, Low, Simmer, Warm settings, and an on/off switch. This size is good for a small family or meals for two with leftovers. :D
In my other adventures since quitting Crowdstar, I've gotten a lot of offers for contract work and full time work. Crazy. I have only been working on two projects, but other than that I am taking my time considering any other offers. I may finally take the plunge and go into a full time position, but it would have to be a place that I enjoy working at.
In non food/work news... Met with my best friend Ion! I haven't seen him in ages and wished I had more time to do things with him. He surprisingly got a new puppy named Newt! She is so darling!
You can't see her face, but it's like a little bear. :B This just reinfroces my wish to have a dog. That and going to the SPCA and other similar places to look at Kittens and Dogs doesn't help.
